I am a Christian and stumbled on this blog by googling “G’mar Chatima Tova” which was in a email that was sent to me….a prayer that you are suppose to send to so many people,etc…

I found your discussions quite interesting…the generalities and sterotypes of Jewish and Christians, rightwing and left wing.

To return home to what you were truly saying about you have felt a strong urge to be a part of the “community” of the people in the synagogues then I suggest following your heart and conscience.

Believe it or not, he had very few comments. “Interesting” was probably the safest thing he could write in response to my nutty, but expressive, rants. He did say it was a terrific job, so don’t be so miffed! Thanks for being so proud (and defensive!) of your loony eldest child. The coconut doesn’t land too far from the tree, you know.

Suzanne, the quality of your writing (thoughts,style) still blows me away,especially as an 18 year old. Some people could never reach that level of self-expression as an adult.

I am curious about your teacher’s comments about the individual entries. He must’ve (or should’ve) had quite a bit to say. His description that the journal was “interesting” is extremely weak – a much less hackneyed descriptor is certainly called for considering the depth and breadth of your writing! I am so proud and teary-eyed!

I have met more than my fair share of “pro-life” activists who could care less what happens to a baby and a child. I’m sure that you are a very nice person, but volunteering at a homeless shelter is not enough, although very honorable and good. We need widespread social support for children. Voting for someone who will cut food stamps, access to housing, medical care, and decent schooling is about as anti-life as it gets. Maybe you don’t do it, but unfortunately the track record of other “pro-life” people is pretty darn stark.
