I think this picture says it all: I had a wonderful time with my family celebrating Marcus's first birthday.
I actually have to thank an American Airlines reservation agent for ensuring that it happened. Although the odds of getting on an earlier flight were slim, I went to the airport early on Friday anyway. On the way there, Dana and I discussed the bad weather in the Midwest. I figured there would be delays, and readied myself for a long night.
When I got to the airport, I put myself on standby for a flight was was supposed to leave at 6:00 but was delayed to 6:30. I was number 16 on the list. Then the flight was pushed back to 7:00. "You should be glad this flight is just delayed an hour," the gate agent announced. "The last flight out was canceled entirely." As in, the flight I had a seat on. I called American immediately and explained my situation to the agent. She told me to hold on while she got me a seat. And she did. I am just so grateful to her for helping me out.
In the meantime, I am such a burned out mush head that I forgot my cell phone charger and my toothbrush. Oy vey.
