Are You a Serial Killer?

Husband told me that he read that nearly all serial killers have the same answer to the following question:
A woman is at her mother's funeral when she notices an attractive man who is attending. She would like to go and talk to him, but first she must deal with the well-wishers and other people who went to the funeral and want to speak with her on their way out. By the time she is finished with the niceties, the man is gone. She never gets a chance to find out who he is. A week later, she kills her sister. Why?
Posit your theory in the comments* and later I'll reveal what the typical explanation given by a serial killer is.

*Unless you know the answer 'cause you heard this before. Don't be a wet blanket when it comes to demented fun, please!

she is hoping she does not get caught for murdering her sister, so she can attend that funeral. She is hoping to get the chance because she is sure he will show.

I have heard this before and while I did not guess the answer the first time, when I heard it, it made perfect sense.

EEK! I was thinking that it was because the sister is dating the man, but I bet Dianne is right. I bet she kills the sister in the hopes that the man will show up for another funeral in her family.

Can I be a cereal killer now? Because I have a vendetta against Cap'n Crunch.

I was originally the same thing as Ev, that her sister was dating the man, but I think Diane is right. So do I need to be worried the next time I see Diane :)?

I heard it before too but forgot. But I think the first comment by dianne is correct.

I'm with the crowd here -- heard it before.

If you're interested, I can share an incredibly disturbing story from my mom's tenure as a deputy coroner that meshes with this post perfectly.

I also have heard this one before..but this was asked of me at work about a year ago the first time...actually a group of us at some meeting and we were all supposed to share our answers. And I was the only one who got it "right." Very awkward moment for me in this group meeting...

Her sister didn't help her with any of the arrangements for the funeral and left her to greet the grievers. If the sister had helped out a little, she would have been finished in time to go see that guy.

Plus, her sister was like "did you see that guy? I'm totally going for him."

just a note - I have not heard this before and I did not read the other comments before I posted. Draw from that what you will.
