I know you already said bookstores, but college bookstores tend to have books like that.
Souvenir shop, maybe? Size-large gas station/truck stop?

Man on the street. And I like the boutique idea.
Here in the Boston area, independent coffeehouses and small, funky shops and cafes--esp. if featured--would be a good match for a book like that. Also, some of our farmer's markets have artists booths where they sell eclectic jewelry, handbags, aprons, quilts, paintings, etc. If you have any friends who do something similar at farmer's markets in NYC, maybe they would be willing to pimp your book?
Rent a kiosk with Tycho mounted on the top of it (not the roof, but the counter or whatever you call it), and strategically place copies of the book around his cute little furry body. His size will attract the curious, who will be simultaneously attracted to the book.
