Harbinger
Saturday night when we took Bubbe out to dinner, she told us about one of her favorite TV shows, Everybody Loves Raymond. (Incidentally, I hate that show. Is Ray Romano not the most fucking annoying "character"? Also, Patricia Heaton is an idiot in real life, which I can't get over.) Anyway, Bubbe loves this show.
"The brothers! They are so funny!" she exclaimed repeatedly. "And their mother is so nice. Everyone should have a mother like this."
I think you now know everything you need to know to fully understand my Bubbe.

We think the mother on that show is exactly like my Nana so maybe Bubbe and Nana should get together for soem Majhong!
I think everyone else should have a Mother like that. Just because I'm mean, ha,ha..
I hate that show too. Ray's character is such a whining asshole. If he were my son I'd have slapped him upside the head one too many times.

I admit that I didn't watch it for years because it looked stupid but I love that show. Watching the parents kvetch at their grown kids is completely hilarious. Ray Romano is the perfect buffoon, a nebbish who cannot get away from Mommy. He is an ass, of course you are right about that.
But the Bubbe and the Zayde are worth the watch.
