Happy New Year and All that Shit

January 1 is probably my least favorite day of the year. I am not sure that I have ever not been depressed on January 1. It always seems to be a reminder of the fact that although I got excited the prior night about the coming year and all that it may bring, really, nothing at all has changed. It's just the same old shit going on in the world and my immediate life. (Husband just commented that this is very morose, but that is just how January 1 is. I can't help it.)

Oh well. Tomorrow is a new day. Don't worry about me. I'll cheer up sometime in February.

For the fair-skinned, June is often the worst month, as this marks the beginning of three months of uninterupted freckle production. Freckles are essentially underground moles -- they look attractive and exotic on a select number of fashion models, but generally detract from the wholeness of one's face.

Beware the rare fair-haired freckle.

An Absurdly Happy New Year!

I found that only profound deep thinkers get depressed. What's it like to be depressed?

If it helps, why not ignore New Year's all together until Rosh Hashanah?

Husband - June rocks because my bday is smack dab in the middle.

Jan 1. is just another day, so it's nothing to get depressed about. Why not get depressed about the 1st of the month? Or Mondays?

I feel the same way about Jan. 1. It doesn't feel like a new start to me because I'm still in the same body as the day before.
