A Pubic 'Fro to Dye For

A few weeks ago, my friend Minnie mentioned that she went to a beauty supply store to buy some hair dye and was surprised to find pubic hair dye. My initial reaction was to wonder where I could find such a product to make fun of it. I reserve the right to a second opinion, and hereby invoke that right.

Yesterday, Min Jung Kim wrote about pube dye at BlogHer, and I decided that it is a good thing. Sure, it is silly as hell. But at least there is an assumption that you freaking have pubic hair in the first place. This is a good thing.

It seems that Husband knew people in college who were well ahead of the times, as he was friendly with one couple who used Manic Panic to dye the little head ‘fros violet to go with NYU’s school colors. I’m not sure why anyone would want to show their love of NYU (aka “The Evil Empire”) on their genitals, but whatever. Wacky college kids!

In a very tangentially related note, dying ones pubes blue for no reason at all reminds me that Husband knows someone who has his $250,000 Italian sports car custom colored to match the tapestries in his home. The compulsion to match crosses all socio-economic groups. Isn’t it nice to find common ground?

When I was in junior high, some "cool guy" asked if I dyed ALL my hair green. I told him he was stupid and that he would never find out. Maybe he started this "trend."

As for matching the school, I'm against it, though I do have some purple in my (head) hair. Luckily, I do not go to NYU. I used to see people wearing UCDavis sweatpants, with the logo across their butts. I'm sure it was meant to draw attention to the girls' derrieres, but I likened it to metaphorically wiping your ass with the school.

Did the couple show off their special friends?

I was in a specialty salon @ Yonge & Eg', here in Toronto.

sure nuff, they had muff dye.

what surprised me, is the number of women who've never heard the old 007 line, "I don't care what colour her hair is as long as the collar & cuffs match"...

But I digress:
what I will say is that there is MORE to removing pubic hair than we might suspect.

by REMOVING the 'secondary sex characteristic' as a sexual CUE from society, we over-ride the VERY OLD purpose of SECONDARY SEX CHARACTERISTICS.

... to signal *age appropriate* sexual interest.

Redefining a YOUNG muffless genital region does NOT work in the best interest of society.

Our kink is tomorrow's sexual confusion.

I've used the Betty Beauty products for pubic hair coloring and they are amazing!!!! I generally don't want to run the risk of shaving and let's face it... anyone who has ever used waxed knows it hurts. I have very sensitive skin in that area but their products helped me cover up my premature greys. I also like to dye the hair on my head so it was perfect for making sure that my colors match.

I found their stuff at www.bettybeauty.com

Check it out
